As Hollywood continues to strive towards inclusivity, one of the biggest changes has been the introduction of size heroines on Disney+. Representation matters and Disney is taking strides to make sure that everyone can see a bit of themselves in the movies they watch.
these women show us all that it means to be strong. Each heroine faces her trials and tribulations on her journey towards self-acceptance and success – something we can all relate to in our own lives.
Disney is using its platform to change the narrative around what it means for a woman to be “strong” or “beautiful” in today’s society. size heroines are positive role models for young girls (and boys!) who don’t always fit into traditional ideals of beauty but still deserve a place in popular media. They authentically represent strength and resilience – showing us that there is no right or wrong way to be a person or look beautiful.
It’s an exciting time for representation in film and television, thanks largely in part to Disney paving the way for more diverse heroes and size heroines with films like Coco, Moana, Toy Story 4, Brave and Tangled. Here’s hoping that more will come soon!
